Islamabad, Aug 15: Noting that the US’ reimbursements for expenses incurred in global war on terror were not contributing to Pakistan’s economy, instead increasing its fiscal deficit, Islamabad is likely to soon propose changes to the US in its reimbursement mechanism, said the country’s Finance Minister Naveed Qamar.

Qamar’s statement assumed significance in the wake of recent reports that over 700 million dollars each year had been misused. He said that the reimbursement mechanism needed to be refined in line with the country’s economic constraints.

“We will take up this issue with Washington to review the mechanism,” The News quoted Qamar as saying.

Tbilisi - Russia has used cluster bombs during its incursion this week into Georgian territory, the non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) alleged.

In a statement issued early Friday from Tbilisi, HRW condemned the practise, which it claimed to have documented from airstrikes Tuesday in two Georgian cities.

"Cluster bombs are indiscriminate killers that most nations have agreed to outlaw," said Marc Garlasco, HRW senior military analyst.

London, August 13 : Three men from the US have claimed that they have found the body of the mythical ‘Bigfoot’, and intend to present the animal’s body as the conclusive proof.

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is an alleged ape-like creature said to inhabit remote forests, mainly in the Pacific northwest region of the United States and the Canadian province of British Columbia.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the three men plan to release a photo of their Bigfoot and what they claim is DNA evidence at a news conference in Palo Alto on August 15th.

London, Aug. 13: The United States has cancelled a joint naval exercise with Russia after U. S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Moscow that it's attacks on Georgia have jeopardised its integration into international institutions.

The cancellation of the military exercise, set for next week, is the first concrete disapproval from Washington over Russia's military operations in Georgia and South Ossetia.

"I can assure you that Russia's international reputation and what role Russia can play in the international community is very much at stake here," The Times quoted Rice, as saying.

Washington, Aug 13: Pakistan is learnt to have formally requested the US to repatriate its national Dr Aafia Siddiqui, who is presently tried before a US court over terror charges. But, it is expected that Washington won’t accede to Pakistan’s request.

London, Aug 13: Sheikh Tarek bin Laden, the brother of world’s number one terrorist Osama bin Laden, plans to build the world’s longest bridge – 18 miles - connecting two continents - Africa and Arabia – at an estimated cost of 200 billion dollars, and also wants to establish two new cities, one at each end of the over-sea bridge to be built.

According to an official of the company building the bridge, linking of the two continents would allow trade to blossom “from Dakar to Beijing”.
