Study challenges commonly held theories on formation of Earth’s atmosphere

Washington, Sept 20 : Geochemists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have challenged the commonly held ideas about how gases are expelled from the Earth.

The team, lead by Prof E. Bruce Watson, has found strong evidence that argon atoms are tenaciously bound in the minerals of Earth’s mantle and move through these minerals at a much slower rate than previously thought.

Bret Ratner, Chris Tucker reteam for ‘Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra’

Washington, Sept 20 : After the ‘Rush Hour’ movies, director Brett Ratner and actor Chris Tucker will be teaming up once again for New Line’s "Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra".

The studio has picked up the rights to George Jacobs’ biography, and Ratner is attached to direct.

Tucker is said to be keen on getting the role of George Jacobs, Sinatra’s valet from 1953-68.

Bette Midler, Carrie Fisher join ‘The Women’ cast

Washington, Sept 20 : Bette Midler and Carrie Fisher have signed up to star in "The Women".

Also joining the cast are Cloris Leachman, Joanna Gleason, Lynn Whitfield, Debi Mazar and Ana Gasteyer.

The stars will now be joining the already confirmed cast of Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Candice Bergen, reports Variety.

The Diane English-directed pic has Ryan, Bening, Mendes, Messing, Pinkett-Smith and Bergen play friends who discover the pal they envied most is being cheated on by her husband.

Bush says he would have served with US troops in Iraq if he was younger

Washington, Sept.20 : U.S.President George W Bush has told US troops in Iraq that he would like to serve with them, but only if he had been younger.

Interacting with soldiers at a military base outside Iraqi capital Baghdad by video link, Bush who ducked draft duty during the war against Vietnam, described himself as too old.

One of the bloggers who met the president, reported: "He said he'd like to be in Iraq but, 'One, I'm too old to be out there, and two, they would notice me'."

Tom Hanks to produce New Line’s ‘Agent Zigzag’

Washington, Sept 20 : New Line cinema and Tom Hanks will be bringing just published Ben Macintyre book "Agent Zigzag: True Wartime Story of Love and Deception" to the big screen after the studio won an auction for its screen rights.

The book is based on the true story of Edward Arnold Chapman, a career criminal who spied on the Germans for the British in WWII.

New Line muscled out sister studio Warner Bros. for the rights after upping their bid to a high-six figure deal, reports Variety.

Kidman, Urban’s Nashville home on sale for $2.5m

New York, Sept 20 : Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban are packing up and moving out of their Nashville home.

Kidman and her country musician hubby have put their four-bedroom, five-bath house on sale for the sum of 2.5 million dollars.

The 7,000-square-foot mansion, in a ritzy and gated section of Nashville, also comes with its very own gym, pool and spa.

A friend of the couple revealed that Nicole and Keith had decided to put their place on sale because they wanted to find a house that was “theirs”.
