George W. Bush continues to be poked fun at; as last nights' Saturday Night Live (SNL) mocked the way the Republican Party kept Bush far away from the McCain / Palin presidential campaign. 
  
Will Ferrell playing Bush opened the skit by endorsing Sarah Palin and John McCain, though only Palin played by Tina Fey could be found. A Palin look alike Fey admits to being busy 'traveling around this great country' and 'doing a little shopping', though her running mate McCain went missing, soon after hearing Bush's endorsement of the pair, 'last seen traveling on foot through the Adirondacks'. 
  

New York prosecutors are investigating allegations made by Michael Mineo, 24, of Brooklyn that last week, he was beaten and sodomised by police officers in a Brooklyn subway station. 
  
According to Kevin Mosley, his lawyer, on the afternoon of 15th October 2008, several uniformed police officers approached Mineo near Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, who they suspected was smoking marijuana. Forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him, they pulled his pants down and shoved something forcibly into his rectum. Issuing him a summons for disorderly conduct, the police left him writhing in pain. 
  

New York, Oct 25 : With the economy in tatters at home and two wars still raging abroad, Senator Barack Obama’s team is preparing for a fast start, should he win the election, to what could be the most challenging and volatile transition between presidents in 75 years.

Obama’s advisers are sifting résumés, compiling policy options and discussing where to hold his first news conference as president-elect, the New york Times reported.

Democrats say Obama hopes to name key members of his White House, economic and security teams soon after the election. His transition chief has even drafted a sample Inaugural Address.

Washington  , Oct 25 : The US military experts are only training the Pakistani trainers in counter-insurgency techniques in tribal areas, and not directly the troops, Pentagon said here last evening.

“There has been a very, very small ‘train the trainer’ operation going on in Pakistan for some time,” the Dawn quoted Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell as saying.
