Rifat is Pakistan''s Acting High Commissioner to India, as Shahid Malik (Pakistan''s High Commissioner to India) left for Pakistan following summons reportedly from the Foreign Office to help finalise Pakistan''s response on last year's Mumbai terror strikes.

However, sources in the Pakistan Mission in New Delhi informed that it was only a courtesy call.

Pakistan restores NATO supply link after bridge attack

PakistanIslamabad- Pakistani authorities swiftly re-opened a key supply route serving NATO forces in Afghanistan Tuesday, following a rebel attack on a bridge in the north-western tribal region, an official said.

Traffic through the Khyber Pass was suspended when the 30-metre iron bridge was blown up early in the morning.

"The road has been reopened after makeshift arrangements at the blast site," a government official in the Khyber district said.

Pak Senate Committee to probe ‘injustice’ to cricket great Miandad

Javed MiandadIslamabad, Feb 3 : The Pakistan Senate's Standing Committee for Sports has asked former PCB director-general Javed Miandad to appear before it on February 9.

Sources said the committee has invited the former captain and coach of the Pakistan cricket team, who has recently resigned as director-general of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to appear at the meeting of the standing committee.

Senator Tahir Mashhadi said members of the standing committee for sports were not satisfied with the stance of PCB officials on the Miandad issue.

India bemoans lack of Pakistani response on Mumbai attacks New Delhi - India has not yet received any official response from Pakistan on the dossier it provided on the Mumbai terrorist attacks, Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said Tuesday.

"The fact of the matter is that after they (Pakistan) received material from us, we have not received any official communication about the progress of investigations conducted by them," Mukherjee was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
