Islamabad, Feb. 4 : The South Asian Free Media Association (Safma) has asked the Pakistan government not to mask the reality behind the Mumbai massacre and root out terrorism from its soil.

Addressing a press conference here, Safma Secretary-General Imtiaz Alam said that the Pakistan government must ensure that the terror camps operating inside its territory are dismantled.

"There should be no cover-up," The News quoted Alam, as saying.

Lahore, Feb. 4 : United States Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher has acknowledged that the resurrection of the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan depends on the trust deficit between both countries being significantly bridged.

He said that the only way to ease tensions was for Pakistan to address the fallout of the Mumbai Attacks and tackle the terrorism problem.

Lahore, Feb. 4 : International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Muhammad El Baradei has said Pakistan''s nuclear weapons can fall into the hands of terrorists due to the prevailing instability in that country.

According to the Daily Times, El Baradei expressed his fear over the security of nuclear weapons in Pakistan. He said that India and Israel should participate in every step taken for nuclear disarmament and the Indo-Pak nuclear issue could be resolved under the `international framework'.

Pakistan  - Islamist militants took 30 security personnel hostage after an overnight raid in Pakistan's troubled Swat valley, officials said on Wednesday.

Hundreds of insurgents overran a police station in the Shamozai area late Tuesday after daylong combat, a police officer said on condition of anonymity.

At least 30 policemen and Frontier Corps paramilitary troops were jointly manning the post when it was attacked.

The rebels captured the officials and blew up the police station before moving to an unknown location, according to the officer.

Abohar, Feb. 4 : While Indian television channels are protesting against the proposed restrictions that the Government of India intends to impose on them following the live coverage of the Mumbai terror attacks on Taj, Oberoi and the Nariman house last November, the Punjabi Durbar programme of Pakistan radio still finds the Indian channels `puppets' of the Government.
