Islamabad, Feb 3 : Islamabad police is the top unauthorised occupiers of government accommodation in Pakistan's capital city, with its employees being in possession of 167 of the 337 government flats known to be illegally occupied.

Retired officials from the Intelligence Bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency officials are also included in the list of 377 illegal occupants.

This shows that `police power' is wielded to get what one is apparently not entitled to, not eligible for and not authorised to take hold of.

Washington, Feb 3 : US President Barack Obama has said his administration wants to make sure that Afghanistan is not a safe haven for al-Qaeda and the insurgency-hit country does not destabilise its nuclear-armed neighbour Pakistan.

Obama told NBC in an interview that his administration is for having clear objectives in Afghanistan and wants to fix the drift that occurred there over the last two years.

"We are not gonna be able to rebuild Afghanistan into a Jeffersonian democracy," Obama said.

Karachi, Feb. 3 : Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, has demanded the government to stop supporting the US in the war on terror and halt the drone attacks in Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and other parts of the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP).

"Alliance with the US is harmful for Pakistan's security, stability and economic prosperity. The supplies to the NATO forces from Pakistan should be stopped as these items are being used against Pakistani people, " The Nation quoted Qazi as saying.

Islamabad, Feb 3 : Pakistani High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik has reached Islamabad on Tuesday morning to help in finalising the Mumbai terror attacks findings, which will be shared with India and the world this week.

He was called to Islamabad for holding important consultation with the officials of Foreign and Interior ministries in connection with the Mumbai carnage, said foreign office sources.

Islamabad, Feb. 3 : The Pakistan military has said that at least 35 militants were killed overnight in a ground and air operation against insurgents in the Khawazakhela District of the Swat Valley.

"Thirty-five militants were killed in Khawazakhela overnight," the Pakistani military said in a short statement. Just two days after a similar attack in the region, the army attacked the militant hideouts in the northwestern Swat, The News reports.

New Delhi, Feb 3 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, on Tuesday, asserted that India is yet to receive any official response on the dossier it has sent to Pakistan on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

This statement contradicted National Security Advisor MK Narayanan''s claim that Islamabad has reverted to the Indian dossier.

Narayanan had remarked that Pakistan was probing the Mumbai attacks in a manner an investigating agency should proceed by sending queries related to the dossier.
