Tata Steel remembers founder J N Tata on his 170th birth anniversaryJamshedpur, Mar 3 : The employees and senior management of the world''s sixth largest steel company Tata Steel gathered today to celebrate the 170th birth anniversary of its founder - Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata with fervour and gaiety.

The celebrations commenced on March 2 and lasted till March 3 in Jamshedpur.

On this special occasion, the local Jubilee park was illuminated with lights on Monday night, the theme being ''electricity''.

The 24-hour shutdown call disrupted road and rail traffic.

"We are facing a lot of problems. I have to go to Palamu, but there is no train available. The government is not able to do anything. Not only me, all the passengers are facing problems," said Rahul, a rail passenger.

Bus services to and from Ranchi have been completely snapped, and passengers remained stranded at the bus stands.

JMM Chief Shibu Soren Hospitalized In RanchiJMM President and former Jharkhand State Chief Minister Shibu Soren was hospitalized following a suspected urinary infection.

Soren, who is in his 60s, was admitted to the intensive care unit of Bokaro General Hospital.

Speaking with the reporters over JMM leader condition, BN Mahapatra (Medical director, Bokaro General Hospital) said, “"He is running a high fever and we suspect urine infection. Tests are being conducted.”

According to the doctors the blood pressure of the JMM leader was found high.

BJP workers took out protest rallies in many parts of the State.

Over 300 party workers, including Ranchi legislator C. P. Singh, were arrested when they were trying to enforce the shutdown.

Shops and other establishments remained closed in the city and across the State.

The activists also threatened to stage a massive road blockade and agitation if their demands were not met.
