Tata Motors To Stop Production at Jamshedpur for 3 Days

Tata MotorsTata Motors, one of the largest automobile manufacturer in India, has announced closing of the Jamshedpur plant owing to a demand slump. A company spokesperson said, "About 95 per cent of commercial vehicles are purchased through financing. While we do not declare production rates, unavailability of finance, coupled with high interest rates, is forcing customers to postpone purchases."

Jamshedpur Court issues non-bailable warrant against Raj Thackeray

Raj Thackeray Mumbai, Oct. 20 : A court in Jamshedpur on Monday forwarded a non-bailable warrant (NBW) in the name of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray to Mumbai police.

The NBW has been issued against Thackeray for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Biharis. Mumbai Police said that the NBW would be executed this week.

Thackeray is presently out of the city.

Tata Steel To Increase Jamshedpur Plant Capacity; To Set Up Plant At Jharkhand

Tata Steel, a part of Tata Group, has decided to augment the annual Tata Steel To Raise Plant Capacity To 10 Mt By 2010production capacity at its Jamshedpur plant to 10 million tons per annum from its existing capacity of 6.8 million tons.

Mr. B Muthuraman Tata Steel, Managing Director, said that with the opening of blast furnace ‘H’, the subsisting capacity of the company would raise to 10 million tons by the middle of 2010.
