Srinagar, July 26 : Agitation in Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir continues to get violent with every passing day, as police resort to baton charge and tear gas to control the mob on Saturday.
Irate mobs raised slogans and pelted stones on policemen, burnt tyres and destroyed vehicles on the streets as part of their protest against the government for revoking a decision to transfer forestland to a Hindu shrine trust in the Muslim-majority part of Kashmir.
Srinagar, July 24 : At least five people were reportedly killed and 18 others injured in a grenade blast at Batmaloo bus stand here today.
According to official sources, some unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a Jammu-bound bus at the bus stand located in the periphery of Lal Chowk at around noon.
Meanwhile, a surrendered Hizbul Mujahideen militant Ghulam Hassan Wani and three of his family members were killed in a terror attack in Doda district.
According to police, militants opened fired on all four who were sleeping when they barged into his house in Marmath Badi village in the district early this morning.
