Akhtar can make a return to Pak team for Oz seriesIslamabad, Mar 24 : Pakistan's chief selector Abdul Qadir has said that pacer Shoaib Akhtar can return to Pakistan duty if he proves his fitness over the next few days.

He said the selectors have been keeping an eye on Akhtar's performance to decide whether he can be brought back into the team for the one-dayers against Australia.

Qadir pointed out that Shoaib recently gave a good showing in a one-day game, which he said was a good sign.

Mukhtar claimed that Chaudhry brothers of the PML-Q were trying hard to create differences between the PPP and the PML-N, but their dreams of coming into power had vanished.

“Politics based on horse trading and blackmail has no future in Pakistan,” the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

He questioned Obama-led US Administration what major success they had achieved during their last 10 years’ struggle in Afghanistan.

“I assumed charge of office of presidency mere four months ago and it is too early to expect much good,” The News quoted Zardari, as saying.

Speaking after resuming work today , the Chief Justice gave this remark during hearing of a case at Court No. 1.

Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry said that irregularities would not be tolerated in dispensing justice.

ROUNDUP: Suicide bombing kills a policeman in Pakistani capitalIslamabad  - A policeman was killed and several people were injured on Monday in a suicide bombing outside an office of the police's intelligence wing in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, security officials said.

The bomber blew himself up when a police guard stopped him at the gate of the police's special branch, located in the heart of the city, just a few hundred yards away from the headquarters of the premier military Inter-Service Intelligence agency.
