Tehran - The foreign ministers of Iran and Bahrain said Friday they have sorted out differences caused by a senior Iranian cleric's remarks, official news agency IRNA reported.

Ali-Akbar Nateq-Nouri, a conservative former speaker of the Iranian parliament, reportedly said earlier this month that Iran still had sovereignty over Bahrain - sparking a diplomatic crisis.

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Bahrain's Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmad al-Khalifa held talks in Tehran on the issue.

Tehran - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived in Tehran Friday for talks with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Peshawar, Feb. 27: Iranian Consul General Muhammad Iqbal Asghari has said that talks on the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline are in their final stages.

Asghari said the Iranian government was aware of Pakistan's requirement of gas, had preferred to supply gas to Pakistan, rejecting Swiss and Bulgarian proposals, the Daily Times reports.

Iran boasts of having world''s second-largest gas reserves after Russia but poor management, politics and construction delays are blocking it from becoming a major exporter.

Vienna - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is set to discuss Iran's nuclear programme in its spring meeting from Monday, but diplomats expect to make little headway as the new US administration is still reviewing its foreign policies.

The first Vienna gathering of the 35 countries on the IAEA's board of governors since Barack Obama became US president will also take up indications pointing to a secret Syrian nuclear reactor, as well as the issue of who succeeds Director General Mohamed ElBaradei.

Rabat- A diplomatic row has erupted between Morocco and Iran over Tehran's alleged questioning of Bahrain's independence, with Rabat recalling its diplomatic representative to Tehran for a week of consultations, Moroccan press reported Thursday.

Moroccan Foreign Minister Tayib Fassi Fihri informed Iran's ambassador that Morocco had been surprised over being singled out for Iranian protests after showing solidarity with Bahrain.

Jerusalem, Feb. 26 : Iran’s decision to activate the Bushehr nuclear reactor highlights the international community's failure to stop that country from obtaining a nuclear weapon, the Jerusalem Post quoted senior Israeli defense officials, as saying on Wednesday.

"If they were not stopped until now, it is very possible that Iran will succeed in becoming a nuclear country," one senior defense official told The Jerusalem Post.

"Israel, though, is not the only country that needs to be concerned. Iran is also a threat to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other countries in the Gulf," the official added.
