Ganesha festival brings Hindus and Muslims together

Mumbai, Sep 20 : In many areas of Mumbai, Muslims joined Hindus in celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi, the festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha.

Dozens of Muslims prayed together with Hindus at many temples in the city, offering flowers and performing religious rituals.

The men belonging to the two communities have been visiting mosques and the temples to pray.

Salim Khan, a Muslim devotee said they are all one regardless of religion or caste.

London: People of Jammu and Kashmir must think and act as Kashmiris and should not promote national interest of either India or Pakistan, said Dr Shabir Choudhry, a prominent leader of the London -based Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front at a seminar held at the UN Human Rights Council building in Geneva.

The seminar was organised by Interfaith International and the title was: Towards a confederation of Peoples in South Asia, and the Seminar was moderated by Dr Charles Graves.

Patna, Sept 20 The Patna High Court today said that a Bihar Government's petition challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi in a disproportionate assets (DA) case was maintainable.

Justice Ramesh Kumar Datta, who had earlier reserved his order on the maintainability of the petition, fixed September 24 as the next date for the case.
