Court to hear CBI petition for custody of Satyam's Raju, four othersHyderabad, March 19: A Hyderabad City Court on Thursday, will hear a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) petition that seeks two more days of custody of former Satyam Computers Chairman Ramalinga Raju and four other accused.

The CBI had requested custody for another two days on Tuesday after keeping all five in custody for seven days from March 10.

Congress finalises 42 names for Lok Sabha pollsHyderabad, Mar 17 : The Congress Central Election Committee has finalised the names of candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, which include Chief Minister Reddy's son Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who will contest from the Kadapa constituency.

Jaganmohan's uncle and Y. S. R. Reddy's younger brother Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy currently represent the Kadapa constituency.

An early warning system for tsunami developedHyderabad, Mar 13 : The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) in Hyderabad has developed a Tsunami Early Warning System to provide special kind of data for the safety of people living in the Indian coastal areas.

Unique collection of Nizam's photographs in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 16: Mohammed Safiullah, an enthusiastic collector of the rare Nizam photographs in Andhra Pradesh''s Hyderabad, is the proud owner of the photographs of the seven Nizams who ruled the state for two centuries till Indian independence in 1947.

If 42-year-old historian Safiullah is to be believed, Mir Mohammad Ali Khan was the first Indian ruler to be photographed. According to him, before that, only miniature paintings existed.

He added that the first pictures of the Hyderabad city date back to 1850''s.

According to Safiullah''s research, the erstwhile royals used to invite photographers from bigger cities like Bombay and Calcutta.
