Bangalore, Feb 13 : Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major, has said that the current security scenario calls for the increased use of unmanned aerial vehicles with better combat facilities.

Air Marshal Major said the Air Force is in the process of upgrading its combating edge.

Tata group owned Tata Motors and Bangalore based Corporation Bank has signed a deal aimed to provide easy finance facilities to customers for purchase of passenger cars. The deal may help the company, facing low demand in auto sector under the impact of global slowdown and recession like conditions across the world.

Bangalore, Feb 12 : Mantis, an autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) developed by BAE Systems, Europe''s biggest defense company, made its international debut at the ongoing Aero India 2009 in Bangalore.

According to BAE, Mantis can be commanded and controlled by the person on ground through computer who can decide its route and even can decide its height.

"Special features are that it is very light weight, compact, flexible in operation and can be easily be carried on the back pack by two people," said Rajiv Kumar Sharma, a retired wing commander.

Bangalore, Feb 12: Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major has defended his pilots and ruled out their involvement in a near collision involving two aircraft at Mumbai airport.

Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major told reporters here on Wednesday that the Air Force pilots were not at fault as they had got clearance to land from Air Traffic Control (ATC).
