He insisted that the makers of Shane Warne: The Musical should have consulted him about the title or subject.

CA keen to go back to its Aborigine cricket roots

Cricket AustraliaSydney, Oct 27: Cricket Australia (CA) might plan to go back to its cricketing roots, by inculcating the sporting techniques among the Aborigines, as the first Australian cricket team to tour overseas was a side made up of Aborigines which toured England between May and October 1868, winning 14, losing 14 and drawing 19 matches.

The first tour by an official Australian team did not occur until 1878.

In a bid to popularise the sport among the local communities, CA may consider introducing special competitions to improve their small participation rate in the sport.

Breast cancer screenings not effective for women under 40, says expert

Breast CancerSydney, October 27: While the number of women turning to mammograms has significantly increased following breast cancer diagnoses among many celebrities, experts have found that many of them are in the under-40 age group, where mammographic screening is not effective.

"It is important to dispel the misconceptions, address unnecessary alarm and provide the facts for this age group," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Dr. Helen Zorbas, director of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre, as saying at the launch of breast cancer awareness day in Sydney.

Melbourne, October 27 : Pictures showing Irish rocker Bono with his arm around two bikini-clad teenagers in St Tropez have been posted on social networking website Facebook complete with diary details.

The 48-year-old U2 star met American fashion student Andrea Feick and her British friend Hannah Emerson, both 19-year-olds, while he was on holiday with long-time friend Simon Carmody, a musician and former member of Irish band Golden Horde.

Feick said that their relationship had never crossed the line beyond friendship.

Australian stocks in decline Sydney - Australian stocks slid Monday as fears of a worldwide recession grew.

The ASX 200 lost 60 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 3,809.

Losses were stemmed by rising values in the mining sector. Market leader BHP Billiton was up 1.5 per cent as bargain hunters moved on a counter considered oversold. Gold miners also did better.

The local currency was trading at a five-year low. It has lost 37 per cent in value against the US dollar in three months.

The Australian dollar was trading at 61 US cents, up from the low of 60 cents on Friday.
