MCC decides Hair was right in awarding Oval Test against Pak to England

Sydney, Oct 28 : The cricketing law making body - the MCC has reportedly endorsed Aussie umpire Darrell Hair’s fateful decision to award the 2006 Oval cricket Test between England and Pakistan to the home side.

At its meeting that concluded in Delhi this week, the MCC said that the original result - a forfeit after Pakistan''s players refused to return to the field after being accused of ball tampering by Hair – “should stand”.

The researchers from University of New South Wales School of Optometry and Vision Science have found that swimming, gym workout or playing a musical instrument can exacerbate eye diseases like glaucoma and short-sightedness.

British filmmaker John Maybury wants Minogue to re-start her acting career, and has offered her a role in his new flick.

Maybury has previously created video installations for Minogue''s concert tours.

"John told Kylie he had started to write a screenplay and he wanted to create a part for her," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted one of Minogue''s pals as telling the Mirror.

Elle Macpherson dating convicted cocaine smuggler

Elle MacphersonMelbourne, Oct 27 : Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson has a new man in her life, Brian John Burgess, 56, who happens to be a convicted cocaine smuggler.

Burgess, who has a removal company in London called Aussie Man&Van, helped the 44-year-old model move from Notting Hill, West London, to nearby Ladbroke Grove, and became friendly with her.

He had been found guilty of drug trafficking by the NSW District Court in 1996, and sentenced to four years jail after he attempted to smuggle 2kg of cocaine from the US inside hollowed-out books.

Stephanie Rice says it is time to get ‘boring’ again

The ace swimmer, who won three gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, revealed that she was eager to hit the pool again and concentrate on winning more medals.

The 20-year-old admitted that she was “looking forward to that whole side of things calming down and what I love doing (swimming) to become the focus again.”
