Rishi Kapoor’s loving son Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star opposite two-time National Award winning Konkona Sen Sharma in a movie, which will be directed by Kajol's cousin, Ayaan Mukherjee.

The film will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, and it is Ayaan’s directorial debut.

Ayaan has assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in the making of "Swades" and Karan Johar in "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna".

A source said, “It wasn't so much because Ayaan was Karan's pal Kajol's cousin. Ayaan’s script more than anything else clinched the deal. The minute Karan read it he fell in love with it.”

But isn't the combination of Ranbir and Konkona the synthesis of Venus and Mars?

“That’s exactly the point. In this Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships, the director needed a pair that seemed incompatible. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control,” the source added.

In fact, when Ranbir and Konkona saw the script, they liked it at once. Now all they have to do is fall in love with one another on screen.
