PML-N blasts Musharraf for rejecting Sharifs’ nominations

Lahore, Dec 3: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have said the rejection of nomination papers of Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif has exposed the falsehood in the Musharraf regime’s claim of holding free and fair general elections on January 8, 2008.

“The Government is doing every possible thing to keep the Sharifs away from the political process, and the rulers are making full use of the infamous Provisional Constitutional Ordinance (PCO) to achieve their desired results, The News quoted the PML-N leaders, as saying.

“It is obvious that free and fair polls are a far cry now. Nomination papers of top leaders of a major political party in the country have been rejected which is nothing but open victimisation and, it is now vital that the PML-N and other political parties boycott the polls,” PML-N senior vice-president Syed Zafar Ali Shah said.

Shah further said that as the Pakistan Government had not succeeded in preventing the Sharifs from returning to the country, they have rejected the nomination papers to keep the Sharifs away from the elections process. (ANI)
