"To have Binga (Lee) back in the mix bowling 150km/h outswingers, any team is going to take that. It''''s exciting to hear him being so positive about it and just looking forward to getting back into it and being the leader of the attack," Fox Sports quoted Nielsen, as saying.

Johannesburg, Mar. 2 : Australia cricket team coach Tim Neilsen has said that if the visitors pull off a victory today against South Africa in the Johannesburg Test, the mental strength of the side that has many youngsters will be sky high.

"I can''t see anything but us winning this game," Neilsen said after South Africa, set an improbable 454 to win, reached 2-178 at the close on the fourth day at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

"If we do win, the mental state of this young side will be over the top. I''m really excited about this young team reaching a position where we can win this Test match," Fox Sports quoted him as saying further.

Nielsen, who was hit with a barrage of questions at the team''s training session in Potchefstroom on Wednesday, including whether he thought his team were now "timid", was quoted by the Herald Sun as saying: "I''m certainly not saying it''s timid."

Oz may play Boxing Day Test sans spinner

Melbourne, Dec 23 : Australian cricket coach Tim Nielsen has said that the team will consider entering the crucial Boxing Day Test against South Africa without a specialist spinner.

Australia has the options of playing four fast bowlers in Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle and debutant Ben Hilfenhaus, or selecting a traditional attack of three quicks and spinner Nathan Hauritz.

Nielsen said he favoured the idea of playing a spinner, but would not guarantee Hauritz a start until the Australians had assessed the conditions closer to the game.

Nielsen concedes Australia''s pace bowlers have been sluggish in identifying the precise moment to abandon conventional swing for reverse, and have paid a heavy price.

"We will play the conditions as they present themselves, and change our plans quickly if we need to," Nielsen said.
