Rahul Gandhi to visit Gujarat’s Ambaji temple todayBanaskantha (Gujarat), Feb 23: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit famous Ambaji Temple in Gujarat's Banaskantha District today.

Rahul, who is on two-day visit, will later fly to Mehsana, Patan, Himmatnagar, Gandhinagar and then come to Ahmedabad.

In Ahmedabad, he will visit enrolment booth at Soham Hotel on Naroda Highway and then visit Shahpur and Indulal Yagnik statue near Nehru Bridge and take account of the enrolment drive.

Rahul GandhiRajkot, Feb 22 : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today visited the border district of Kutch in Gujarat to further accelerate the youth Congress membership campaign.

Gandhi will pay homage to Kasturba Gandhi on her death anniversary today at Gandhiji''s ancestral home in Rajkot.

He will then meet local youth Congress leaders at Kishanpara chowk in Rajkot and interact with women from the Young Women''s Convention at Hemu Gadhvi Hall.

Gandhi will also visit Bhujodi to see Kutchi handicrafts and meet artisans.

Central Government committed to help poor: Rahul Gandhi

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi Surat, Feb 14, : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Saturday visited the diamond workers here and said the Central Government is committed to work for poor.

"The Congress Party believes in the common man and the poor of this country and over the last five years, we have done more than any government to help the common man," Gandhi said.

On the last day of his three-days visit to Gujarat, Gandhi was meeting with diamond workers in Surat, which has been hit by global recession in recent times.

"I have answered this question many times in the past. My prime ministerial candidate for the coming Lok Sabha elections is Dr. Manmohan Singh," Rahul Gandhi said.

United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi had virtually declared last week that Dr. Singh would be the Prime Minister for another term if the party comes to power again.

He also visited the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU).

The youths expressed their keenness to apply for membership of the Youth Congress.

"We have come here to fill up the membership forms of Youth Congress. Rahul said that if more youths came forward to join the Youth Congress then only will the party become strong and that our country needed young leaders," said Sudha Patel, an applicant.
