Prince Charles appeals Indian farmers to join organic club

Prince CharlesWashington, Oct 7: Prince Charles of UK has appealed to the Indian farmers to adopt organic farming, with a view to mitigate the ongoing climate change.

According to a report in ENN (Environmental News Network), Charles said that worldwide organic farming has proved to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the extent of 35 percent, both directly and indirectly.

The Prince of Wales delivered the statement in the Albert Howard lecture to an Indian audience through video-conferencing.

London, Aug 28 : Charles and Diana wedding cake fetches £1k at auctionA 27-year-old piece of wedding cake from the marriage of the Prince of Wales Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales has fetched 1,000 pounds at an auction.

The cake piece was originally given to Moyra Smith, a member of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother''s household at Clarence House, who preserved the topping in cling film and kept it in a metal tin.

The nine-inch square piece of icing and marzipan, bought by an anonymous buyer, has the royal coat-of-arms and is coloured in gold, silver, red and blue.

Matthew Bell, 35, has previously served two jail terms, 9 months for burglary and 21 days for not paying a traffic fine.

Bell, who at the outset of 2008 had set up a cleaning company, had worked two days cleaning the windows of the new residence before Prince Charles and his wife Camilla arrived. Bell received 1,200 pounds (1,500 euros) for his work.
