Preity Zinta is right now in New Zealand to watch the one-day series between India and New Zealand. But in the meanwhile, she was invited by their Prime Minister John Key for an evening reception. "I have just come out of the reception. It was really a pleasure meeting the man, who is so down to earth and I hear extremely popular," says Preity. Mr. John is young and extremely charming. They mostly discussed cricket.

The dimpled beauty Preity Zinta has been nominated for a ‘Genie Award’ in the “Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role” group for her riveting performance in Deepa Mehta’s ‘Heaven On Earth’.

Due credit goes to the pretty Preity who gave her consent to play unconventional character unlikely of her bubbly image. She has been seen experimenting with her acting skills recently as she endorsed the eloquent yet significant characters in ‘The Last Lear’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Heaven On Earth’.

The Awards will be held on April 4 at Ottawa in Canada.

In a significant move, the city police has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the event organizer of Preity Zinta’s birthday party at her residence in Khar(W) for noise pollution.

The Bollywood actress invited a trouble by partying loud into the wee hours of 1st February (Sunday). The neighbors of the actress complained that loud music was played at the birthday bash late into the night.

Preity Zinta was born in Shimla on January 31, 1975. She is the daughter of Durganand Zinta and Nilprabha Zinta and has two brothers. Upon graduating from the boarding school at age 18, Preity enrolled at St Bede's College in Shimla. She graduated college with an English honours degree, and then started a graduate programme in psychology.

The superstar bubbly actress of bollywood, Preity Zinta, who also happens to own Kings XI Punjab of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is planning to give a chance to promising cricketers at the grass-root level.

A cricket seminar and a T-20 tournament would be held by her team in Chandigarh and Mohali where teams from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir will participate.

Priety informed, "My aim is to promote cricket at the grass-root level and to nurture new talent. I also want everyone involved to have fun."

According to the sources, Yash Chopra has himself penned down the script of the flick. The rumor mills say that the movie, which is yet to get any title, is also going to be a romantic one like all Chopra films.
