Lahore, Aug 13 : US envoy to Pakistan, Anne W Patterson has reportedly urged PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to consider providing a “safe passage” to President Musharraf.

Reacting to the request, Nawaz said that all decisions would be taken by parliament in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people, reported the Daily Times.

During their meeting, matters relating to the impeachment of Musharraf, the on-going military operation in the Tribal Areas (FATA) and current political situation were discussed.

London, Aug 7 : If sources close to former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif are to be believed, at the “make-or-break” meeting between Nawaz and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, it was decided (between the two leaders) to impeach President Pervez Musharraf and force him to step down from the Presidency.

Quoting Nawaz Sharif’s spokesman Ahsan Iqbal, The Times Online reported that it is confirmed that Musharraf will be impeached soon, and the decision agreed upon between Nawaz and Zardari would be made public at a press conference later in the day.

Islamabad, Aug 7 : The conclusive ‘make-or-break” talks between PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif ended on a positive note in the wee hours of morning today, and were described as “successful”, where the government decided to withdraw the notification issued for the reinstatement of the eight Sindh High Court (SHC) deposed judges who were to take oath in Governor House today.

Islamabad, Aug 6 : During the crucial meeting yesterday with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is learnt to have told him that he was ready in principle to impeach President Pervez Musharraf, provided that all coalition partners assured their support for this endeavour, and the ruling coalition had the requisite numbers (read majority) in the National Assembly.

Islamabad, Aug. 4 : Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif will meet here on Tuesday in what is being touted as their last chance to save the Pakistan People’s Party-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz coalition.

The News says that there is a possibility of the governance in Pakistan spiralling into a crisis and a political abyss in the event of the two leaders failing to iron out their differences on key issues, including the restoration of the sacked judges and the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.

Islamabad, Aug 3 : The make-or-break meeting between PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to decide the fate of the four-month-old ruling coalition will take place on Tuesday.

The meeting between the two leaders would be held at the Zardari House that will decide whether the PML-N would sit on the opposition benches or rejoin the cabinet if the PPP agrees to the demand for the restoration of the deposed judges under the Murree Declaration.
