Islamabad, Aug 7 : The conclusive ‘make-or-break” talks between PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif ended on a positive note in the wee hours of morning today, and were described as “successful”, where the government decided to withdraw the notification issued for the reinstatement of the eight Sindh High Court (SHC) deposed judges who were to take oath in Governor House today.

The meeting reportedly ended at about 2.00 am today, and PML-N spokesman Ahsan Iqbal said that a joint declaration would be announced later in the day.

The details of the decisions made during the negotiations between the two sides would be declared in a joint declaration to be released later in the day, The News quoted the sources as saying.

Earlier, the negotiations between the two parties suffered a setback after reports of a notification for the reappointment of eight sacked Sindh High Court judges.

Nawaz, who had left the Zardari House to consult his party on rejoining the federal cabinet, refused to return until the government withdrew the notification. The PPP said it would be embarrassing for the government to withdraw the notification, but added that it could resolve the issue in other ways, sources privy to the negotiations said.

The situation took another turn after reports of a meeting between Musharraf and PPP leader Amin Fahim, and Nawaz rushed back, but insisted on the reinstatement of all sacked judges through an executive order. (ANI)
