Natalie Cole fears she will run out of time before kidney transplantLondon, April 28 : Natalie Cole is terrified that she may not have enough time on her hands to undergo a life-saving kidney transplant.

The 59-year-old singer has been suffering from kidney failure caused by the chronic liver disease Hepatitis C.

The eight-time Grammy Award-winner contracted the condition from her drug addiction during the 80s and is being treated since September last year.

Natalie ColeWashington, Apr 15 : Renowned vocalist Natalie Cole, who is known for her utter professionalism, decided to undergo chemotherapy treatment in her concert dressing room, in a bid to continue performing.

Cole, who is battling with Hepatitis C, did not check into a hospital to get treated because she did not want to take time off from work.

However, Cole did agree that Chemotherapy does leave a patient in incredible pain.

Natalie Cole may get kidney from her son

Washington, Feb 05 : Singer Natalie Cole is hoping to receive a new kidney from her 31-year-old son Robert, which would put an end to the dialysis she must undergo three times a week. 

"My son [Robert, 31] may be a possible [donor] match. It''s very sweet and kind of strange to have people offer something like that," People magazine quoted her, as telling Entertainment Tonight at the Grammy Salute to Jazz.

Cole, 58, is virus negative after being diagnosed with hepatitis C almost a year ago.

She has also struggled with kidney problems while undergoing treatment for the liver disease.

London, Feb 5 : Soul singer Natalie Cole is set to pay tribute to her late father Nat King Cole with a new version of some of his popular songs in her new album.

The 58-year-old star has recorded a reworked version of her dad''s song Straighten Up and Fly Right along with producer will. i. am for a new album celebrating the life and legacy of the jazz icon.

And Cole's sure that her beloved father and legendary singer would approve of the recordings.

"I just love, love, love the mix that will. i. am put on ''Straighten Up and Fly Right.'' It''s so very cool and Dad would get quite the kick from this," the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

Washington, Sept 18: Singer Natalie Cole criticised the organisers of the MTV Video Music Awards for letting an ill-prepared Britney Spears open the show.

The ‘Sacrosanct’ soul star stated that MTV bosses should have pulled Britney’s part beforehand as it was already known that it was going to end in a disaster.

"I don't think she should have performed. She wasn't ready, and she shouldn't have been pushed to perform," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
