Truck in Tsvangirai crash may have belonged to US aid group Harare  - Initial investigations into the crash which killed Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's wife suggest that the truck which collided with their car belonged to a US aid organisation, according to media reports in South Africa.

The driver of the truck has been arrested, according to the reports, whilst President Robert Mugabe has attempted to contact the US ambassador regarding the collision between the truck and the prime minister's Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

Tsvangirai: Zimbabwe must respect rule of law, human rights Harare - Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, in his maiden speech to parliament, said Wednesday that the country must assure rule of law and respect for human rights in order to gain aid from the international community.

"No donor country or institution is going to offer any meaningful assistance unless our new government projects a positive image," Tsvangirai said in his first speech as the new prime minister.

South Africa's daily Business Day said Tsvangirai would be travelling with his finance minister, Tendai Biti, to discuss with Motlanthe plans for US$1 billion in aid from the African Development Bank.

Comment was not immediately available from Tsvangirai's office or from his Movement for Democratic Change.
