Obamas have quiet Valentine's Day dinner in Chicago

US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama Washington  - US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle had a quiet Valentine's Day dinner at an upscale restaurant in Chicago Saturday night.

The first couple dined at Table Fifty-Two, near the north side of their home city. The restaurant is owned by talk show host Oprah Winfrey's personal chef, Art Smith, and serves traditional Southern cuisine.

The Obamas are spending a long weekend in Chicago, the first break for the president since he took office January 20.

Michelle Obama Washington, February 11 : Michelle Obama has said that Washington had come to mean a new home for her family and they were looking forward to getting involved with the city.

The First Lady of the United States had paid a visit to a teen group at a health care centre in Adams Morgan and told the kids she has been "somewhat where you are."

"We''ve been visitors but now we live here. This is our community now," the Washington Times quoted her as saying.

The first lady wore a silk dress designed by Jason Wu, who also designed her inaugural gown.

The animal lover society was glad that the designer kept away from fur.

"We are delighted that Jason Wu has put aside the cruelty of fur for now, and hope he will adopt a permanent fur-free policy," Contactmusic quoted a American Humane Society spokesman as saying.

In an interview to Good Housekeeping, the 45-year-old revealed that she calls her husband Pumski.

Michelle had left people in frenzy with questions about her patriotism when she said, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."

But, it seems, Mrs. Obama is unfazed by the stir caused by her quote, for she insists that she doesn't regret anything said during the presidential campaign.

"I'm sure the president and the first lady will go out for Valentine's Day," Politico. com quoted Gibbs as saying.

The Obamas will be moving about quite a bit, starting with a visit to Camp David on February 7 and ending with a visit to Chicago on February 13.
