Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch sold to investment firm

Michael JacksonWashington, Nov 13: Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch has been reportedly sold to an investment firm.

The troubled singer – who saved the 2,800-acre Californian estate from auction earlier this year after striking a deal with an investment company – has now officially passed the property deeds over to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC.

The company’s bosses will rename the property in a joint venture with the pop star, according to reports.

Santa Barbara public records confirm Michael is no longer the owner of the ranch, reports Contactmusic.

The controversial pop star, who created his fantasy escape on the sprawling central California ranch at the height of his fame in 1988, has transferred ownership of the property to a company that he owns jointly with the private equity firm which took over his 24.5-million-dollar debt on the property in May.

According to the Santa Barbara County Assessor's Office, Jackson sold the property for 35 million dollars.

Apparently, the singer has been offered a 10 million dollar guarantee for 20 shows by AEG and recently the guarantee has been upped to 30 shows.

This deal was offered to Jackson last spring when he was on the verge of losing his Neverland ranch to default.

However, Colony Capital LLC of California came along and bought Jackson’s debt from Fortress Investments of New York.

The reports come in the backdrop of the artist’s recent return to the top spot in the Billboard''s Top Pop Catalog Albums with his 1982’s superhit album ‘Thriller’.

Jermaine believes that the 50-year-old singer is like their controversial father, Joseph, when it comes to parenting.

"Michael is not one of those fathers that lets them do what they want and give(s) them everything they want," Herald Sun quoted Jermaine, as saying.

"He is raising them the way he was raised. I think it''s great because he wants them to be good people," he added.

The ‘King of Pop’ revealed his plans in a statement trashing rumours claiming that he will be joining his family on a reunion tour.
