London, January 30 : British singer-songwriter John Martyn died, aged 60, in a hospital in Ireland on Thursday morning.
The cause of his death has not been revealed as yet.
"With heavy heart and an unbearable sense of loss we must announce that John died this morning," the Daily Express quoted a statement on his official web site as reading.
Martyn was regarded as one of the most soulful and innovative singer-songwriters of his generation.
