Kejriwal to unveil AAP's trade and industry manifesto in Ludhiana today

Ludhiana (Punjab) [India], Oct. 23 : Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party' national convener Arvind Kejriwal will be visiting Ludhiana on Sunday to release the party's trade and industry manifesto for Punjab.

As per report, the manifesto will be released at a resort on Chandigarh Road in presence of representatives of trade, transport and industry associations.

Earlier, in a direct move aimed at reaching out to voters, especially the farmers, and luring them to cast their votes in favour of the AAP, the latter has been distributing forms declaring that it would waive off the farmers' loans after coming to power in the state.

For the past one week, such forms of assurance are being circulated door to door by AAP leader Sanjay Singh.

BJP seeks explanation from Kejriwal over AAP's 'illegal' funding

New Delhi [India], Oct. 14 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday sought an answer from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on the recent reports of using government funding on ad campaign.

"Arvind Kejriwal must come up and answer on this funding issue, as why so much of fiasco is taking place? Why so many complaints are coming?" BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI.

Hussain further said that AAP members are habitualized on slapping allegations against others but don't feel the need to provide an answer to the controversies surrounding their own party.

As per reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly used Rs 1.5 crore from the annual budget of Delhi for the campaigns in Punjab and Goa.

New Delhi, Feb 11 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the latter's residence on Wednesday and invited him for his swearing-in ceremony which is to take place on February 14 at Ramilia Grounds.

Party leader Manish Sisodia was also present at the meeting.

"We requested him ( Rajnath Singh) to attend the oath-taking ceremony on Saturday. We also requested him for his support that Delhi gets full state rights, and that both the state government and the Centre should work constructively together for Delhi," said Sisodia.

Kejriwal, who was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislative party yesterday, met Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu earlier in the day.

He is also scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee today.

New Delhi, Feb 10 : With the Aam Aadmi Party sweeping the Delhi assembly elections, winning 67 out of the 70 seats on offer, five candidates of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party won by a margin of more than 50,000 votes.

The highest margin of victory was achieved by Vikas Puri candidate Mahinder Yadav of the AAP, who beat his nearest rival, Sanjay Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 77,665 votes.

The others candidates who won big were Ved Parkash, who beat Gugan Singh (BJP) by 50,023 votes in Bawana; Sanjeev Jha, who beat Gopal Jha (BJP) by 63,122 votes in Burari; Prakash, who beat Arvind Kumar (BJP) by 63,937 votes in Deoli; and Amanatullah Khan, who beat Braham Singh (BJP) in Okhla by 63,657 votes.

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal won from the New Delhi constituency securing 57,213 votes.

AAP's Narayan Dutt Sharma emerged victorious from Badarpur constituency (HOW MANY VOTES), Ajay Dutt won from Ambedkar Nagar with 66,632 votes, Akhilesh Pati Tripathi from Model Town with 54,628 votes, Alka Lamba won from Chandni Chowk with 36,756 votes and Gopal Rai has won from Babarpur with 75,928 votes

New Delhi, Feb. 10 - Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday turned emotional as he thanked the people of Delhi for his party's historic win in the assembly polls and vowed to always walk on the path of truth.

Urging all his party MLAs and workers to avoid being arrogant post the win, Kejriwal said, "It's very scary, the kind of support that the people of Delhi have given us. I would like to tell all workers and MLAs don't be arrogant."

"I am sure together with the people we can make Delhi a place of which everyone will be proud. We will always walk the path of truth. We have to get together and serve Delhi. I cannot do anything alone," he added.

He said the people of Delhi have achieved something spectacular through Tuesday's vote count.

New Delhi, Feb 7 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to win the elections through the TV screen and not working at the ground level.

"I would like to appeal to the people of Delhi that now various rumors would be spread. The people are aware that one is a party that wants to win the elections through the TV screen and the other party wants to fight elections by approaching the people by going to their homes," Kejriwal told the media here.

Earlier in the day, BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi shared a video with the media showing a lady accusing Aam Aadmi Party of intimidating her to not vote for the saffron party.

"During my rule of 49 days, I did not allow even single 'jhuggi' to be demolished. We are coming to power for years and in that period, I will not demolish even a single 'jhuggi'. There are five lakh 'jhuggis' in Delhi and we will make five lakh permanent houses," Kejriwal said while addressing a rally in the Trilokpuri area in the city.

"Everyone is free to give their own view in this country. We have a Lokpal where anyone can complain. If Shanti Bhushan has any complaints, he can bring it out. However, there is no internal damage within AAP," said Kejriwal.

"Since the time the BJP has come to power in Delhi, they have been bulldozing slums. Those people are living on footpaths and pavements in this chilly winter. It's the government's policy that we have to allot compensatory plots to these people, who are driven out of slums," Kejriwal said.

Supreme Court New Delhi, Oct 28 : The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Union Government to release all the names of the people who have stashed their black money in accounts abroad. This order came after the latter had released the names of three account holders on Monday.

The government has till tomorrow to disclose the names to the apex court.

Earlier today, Aam Admi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal reportedly said that he would file an affidavit in the Supreme Court with the names of at least more such people who have illicit wealth stashed away abroad. He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of harbouring and protecting such people.

"These attacks are scripted. When they (attackers) are arrested, they repeat the (same) script," Kejriwal told the media after being attacked by an auto-rickshaw driver who first garlanded the AAP leader.

The attacker then gave a whacking slap, stunning Kejriwal.

"Why are all the attacks taking place only on us?" Kejriwal later asked. "There will be more attacks, and we can also get killed."
