Pakistan files case against Kasab, 13 others

Ajmal Amir KasabIslamabad, Feb. 11 : The Pakistan Government on Wednesday registered a case against Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive during the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

Media reports said that the charges were filed against Kasab and 13 other people on the basis of a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probe into the Mumbai attacks.

Islamabad ordered the FIA probe after India alleged that the Mumbai attacks were plotted in Pakistan.

Currently, Kasab is in the custody of Mumbai police.

Have Ajmal Kasab’s associates been arrested in Karachi?Karachi, Feb. 9 : Pakistani Intelligence agencies have claimed that they have arrested three men for their alleged links to Ajmal Kasab, the surviving terrorists involved in the November 26 to 29 terror attacks on Mumbai.

The Daily Times sources disclosed that Federal Investigation Agency in collaboration with other intelligence agencies had detained three men from different parts of Karachi for their alleged association with Kasab.

The detainees were reportedly taken to Islamabad where an investigation was in progress.

Kasab’s DNA matches with the blanket seized from MV Kuber

Ajmal Amir KasabNew Delhi, Feb. 5, : The Mumbai police on Thursday said that the DNA of Mohammed Ajmal Kasab and the imprints of blankets seized from MV Kuber has been matched.

MV Kuber is the trawler, which brought the terrorists in Mumbai.

"This proves that the terrorists travelled by Kuber. However, it is not clear how this aspect would help the police in its investigations," Mumbai's joint police commissioner Rakesh Maria said.

Kasab''s police custody extended till February 13New Delhi, Feb 2 : The police custody of Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the 26/ 11 terror strikes, has been extended till February 13.

Kasab had been remanded to police custody till today for his involvement in the shootout at the Cama and the Albless Hospital in South Mumbai.

Earlier, Additional Metropolitan Magistrate N Shrimangale and Additional Public Prosecutor E B Dhamal were shifted to an undisclosed location for the hearing. Kasab was not brought to for security reasons.

Kasab, was last remanded in police custody on January 4 for his involvement in the shootout at the Cama and the Albless Hospital in South Mumbai.
