Ajmal Amir Kasab, PakistanNew Delhi - The lone suspect captured during the November terrorist attacks on Mumbai has requested newspapers, toothpaste, perfume and permission to walk in the verandah outside his prison cell, news reports said Thursday. Ajmal Amir Kasab's request addressed to his jailor was read out by his attorney, SG Abbas Kazmi, in the special court in Mumbai hearing the Mumbai terrorist attack trial, the NDTV news channel reported.

Kasab is the main accused in the November 26-29 attacks, in which more than 170 people were killed.

Abbas Kazmi told reporters outside the court that Kasab’s four demands include (1) Urdu language newspaper (2) His money should be placed in the jail account (3) He should be allowed to stroll in the verandah outside his jail cell and (4) He should be provided with flavored toothpaste.

Special Judge ML Tahilyani on Friday ordered a medical test to determine Kasab's age after the accused claimed he was under 18 and should be tried in a court meant for juveniles.

The judge was expected to give his ruling on the matter Wednesday, the IANS news agency reported.

The court ruling was based on ossification and blood tests submitted to it. The reports claim that Kasab is aged above 20 years.

The medical reports have been handed over to Special Public Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam, who continues to demand that he would like to examine two witnesses.

2008 assault on Mumbai, news reports said.

Special Judge ML Tahilyani's order came after Kasab's lawyer contended that the suspect be tried as a juvenile on grounds that he was 17 years old, the IANS news agency reported.

The judge said a doctor would carry out dental and bone examinations to find Kasab's true age.
