Oil cleaning may cost BP more
It has been informed that the cleaning of oil at the golf of Mexico may cost the oil giant BP, much more than that of the expected figure. It is likely to go beyond 3 billion dollars.
It includes the cost of containing the spill and the cleaning up of the oil. There are charges of drilling reliefs as well. Beside these, it also includes the 147 million dollar which has been paid out in compensation those who were being affected by the spill.
Now it has been informed to the company that the entire price of the spill is expected to be much higher. It has already touched 2.65 billion dollar mark in a week before.
The corporation has confirmed that the efforts to save oil from the surface of the water had been provisionally placed on hold due to hurricane Alex, which is presently passing through the area.
However, the company is trying its level best to stop this oil spill. It has drilled two supportive wells to prevent the leak but it would take immense time for the firm to stop the leak and to clean the sea.
