NVIDIA launches supercomputer in India

Tesla Personal SupercomputerNVIDIA Corporation introduced a 'Tesla Personal Supercomputer' at very attractive prices in Indian market. It would provide much higher efficiency and performance over ordinary desktop.

Tesla Personal Supercomputer can be assembled at local level and plugged into the normal power sockets for house hold use. It comes with graphics processing unit (GPU) technology which is also used by computer manufacturers such as Dell, Lenova and HP due to its efficient performance. The company has spent $500 million to develop the processor which would revamp the data processing by computer. '

Tesla Personal Supercomputer' is available with a price tag of Rs 1,55,000 and higher for better configurations.

NVIDIA President & CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang said that the company has tied up with Connoiseur Electronics to develop personal supercomputer technology. The supercomputer would prove boon for researchers across the globe. Mr. Huang launched NVIDIA Visual Computing Lab at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT).

The lab is aimed to provide latest equipment and software to students for further research on GPU technology. Jen-Hsun Huang also announced to award CUDA Fellowship to Prof. P J Narayan, Dean of Centre of Visual Information Technology at IIIT.
