After a lot of hullabaloo, the Finnish handset maker, Nokia finally finalized a wage revision pact with its employees in India.

The market leader in the handset segment in the world had to do so after its employees went on a strike in its manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

Nature of the agreement is tripartite and has been signed between Nokia India Employees Progressive Union and the management in the presence of Tamil Nadu Labour Minister T M Anbarasan and Labour officials.

The same was signed on Monday night and was presented on Tuesday.

The staff of the unit had gone on strike on July 13 demanding revision in their wages and also asking for revocation of suspension of around 50 workers.

While some experts said that the issue will be settled in court, the two parties decided to settle it amicably. The total term of the agreement is three years.

Because of the same as many as 3,500, will be benefited.

Statement from Nokia said that the step should be taken as a gesture of goodwill and should be considered as one of the happy endings.
