BSE Sensex crossed 17000, Technology Stocks Strong

Indian Stock markets have crossed the 17000 mark. The markets were strong on back of IT Stock and Reliance. This is the fastest gain of 1000 points by BSE Sensex and Bulls have done this is just one week. Technology, market laggards, also participated in the last lap, driving the Sensex to a record high of 17,025.07 early Wednesday.

During the early trades, the markets jumped by nearly 90 points to be close to 17000 target. Infosys, Satyam Computers, Wipro and ICICI bank were among the gainers in Sensex stocks. Markets soon touched their highest 17,025 points.

Washington, Sept 26 : Modern humans still retain caveman’s survival instincts at spotting predators and prey, despite living in the comforts of modern homes in urban localities, according to a new study published online in this week’s issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The study reveals that humans today are hard-wired to pay attention to other people and animals much more than non-living things, even if inanimate objects are the primary hazards for modern, urbanized folks.

‘I would allow IAEA to question AQ Khan’: Benazir

Washington, Sep 26 : Former premier Benazir Bhutto has said that if she again becomes Prime Minister of Pakistan, she would allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to question disgraced nuclear scientist Dr AQ Khan.

It has to be determined, if Khan was solely responsible for what he had confessed to, or if there were “others” involved, Bhutto said at the Middle East Institute here.

She went on to say that when in power her party would hold a parliamentary debate over the issue.

11 new plant, animal species discovered in Vietnam’s remote ‘Green Corridor’

Washington, Sept 26 : A WWF expedition has uncovered 11 new plant and animal species in a remote area in central Vietnam.

Scientists said the discovery underscored the importance of conservation efforts in the ancient tropical forests of the region.

The biologists found a snake, five orchids, two butterflies and three other plants new to science and exclusive to the Annamites Mountain Range within the forest region, known as “Green Corridor”.
