Schematic Model of an Enzyme
Washington, Oct 18 : Ever wondered why you inherited your mom’s smile but not your dad’s height? Well, a collaborative study by the universities of Leeds and Dundee has now unveiled the answers to these questions.

The research team has discovered an enzyme, T7 endonuclease 1, that combines both maternal and paternal DNA to create genetically unique offspring.

The researchers mapped the 3 dimensional structure of an enzyme responsible for splitting DNA strands – a process at the heart of human individuality.
