Sony has unveiled its new Vaio Z Series ultra slim laptop in an event in London this week with an impressive docking system to enahcne ts performance and connectivity options.

The new 13.3-inch model weighs less than 1.2kg and is 16.65mm thin, according to the company. Tshi makes it thinner and lighter than rival Apple’s Macbook Air. The model comes with an Sandy Bridge Core i7 chip clocked at
3.4GHz and has 8GB of memory and up to 256GB hard drive storage.

Internet giant, Google has launched a new social project called, Google+ to take on social networking giant Facebook. The company is aiming to integrate various services under one platform to consolidate its vast online user base.

The new Google+ service, which is under its field trail, will allow users to share photos, messages and comments and it also integrates Google maps and images. The service is designed to enable users organize their contacts easily.

News Corp has sold the once popular social networking site, Myspace to a California-based digital advertising agency, Specific Media, which is backed by musician Justin Timberlake.

Mr Timberlake will pick up a stake in the site and help refresh its strategy for future along with Specific Media. Myspace, which was founded in California in 2003 and was the world’s biggest social networking site until three years ago, has faced a dramatic decline in the number of active users as well as revenues.

Internet giant, Google has released its new service, called Google Sites Mobile Landing Page allowing businesses to easily optimize their websites for the mobile users.

Using the tool with Google Sites, the users will be able to suit their websites for mobile phones very quickly. The new tool comes after the company released mobile sites last week. The users will be able to choose from pre-formatted templates for pages like landing pages, social interaction, lead generation and eCommerce.

Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy have announced that the LG Optimus 3D smartphone will be available from July 1, a week before it is launched nationwide in the UK.

The world’s first 3D phone with glass free technology will be available across 20 Carphone Warehouse stores across the country while Best Buy will offer the device in its four leading outlets.

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled against an online campaign by Virgin Media, which accuses rivals of "conning" internet users.

BT and Sky had complained against "Stop the broadband con" and the ASA ruled reprimanded Virgin implying that the campaign cannot continue. The campaign also included a letter form Richard Branson claiming rivals were "not keeping their promises", a speed test as well as links to Ofcom's official broadband report.
