ICL: Easy Win For Warriors
A fine knock of (73 n. o.) by opener Shahriar Nafeez in the ICL 20s Indian Championship match at Tau Devi Lal Stadium led to a comfortable win for Dhaka Warriors over Chandigarh Lions.
With Shahriar anchoring the innings, in-form batsman Alok Kapali scored a quick fire of 32 n.o. off just 17 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 huge sixes, as Warriors passed the 138-run target in the 18th over, losing just two wickets. Chasing a modest target, Warriors got to a good start as both its openers Shahriar and Nazimuddin added 53 runs for the first wicket. Nazimuddin scored 23 runs off 23 balls. Batting at number 3 position, Aftab Ahmad, fell lbw immediately. However, both Nafeez and Kapali batted well and ensured victory for their team without any further loss of wickets.
Earlier in the evening, after losing the toss, Lions got to bad start and lost its wickets at regular intervals. At one time, Lions were struggling at 45 for 4. Expect Bipul and skipper Andrew Hall, no other batsman could stay at the wicket for long. Bipul played a useful knock of 30 runs off 22 balls laced with four boundaries. In their allotted 20 overs, Lions manage only 137 runs.
