Twelve tourists killed as tourist bus collides with truck in Sinai
Cairo - Twelve tourists were killed and 34 injured as their bus collided with a truck in the Egyptian peninsula of south Sinai on Monday.
The accident took place near the city of Ras-Sudr, some 190 kilometres from Cairo, along the Sharm el-Sheikh-Cairo road.
Seven of the tourists killed were foreigners.
The injured were hospitalized in Ras-Sudr hospital.
Egyptian roads are among the most dangerous in the world.
Around 6,000 people die each year in accidents and 30,000 are wounded, according to the Transport Ministry. (dpa)
