New performance-oriented Next NX2 e-scooter available in Europe
Spanish electric two-wheeler manufacturer Next Electric Motors recently announced the availability of its new sporty NX2 electric scooter (e-scooter) in Europe, raising the bar for rivals in terms of performance. The new Next NX2 e-scooter, which has been launched following a variety of commuter-focused models, is said to be the most performance-oriented model in the brand’s entire e-scooter lineup. With a special focus on performance, the manufacturer equipped the Next NX2 with a centrally-mounted brushless electric motor (e-motor), which enables the electric two-wheeler to stand apart from its siblings that come equipped with a hub motor.
The e-motor’s central position not only provides better balance but it also means that it can churn out more power. Power is provided to the vehicle’s rear wheel via a belt drive. The electric two-wheeler boasts a sporty body and an aggressive stance. Its LED headlight and a bubble-style windscreen have been designed keeping exceptional styling for demanding consumers in mind.
Describing the e-scooter’s LED lighting, cruise control & reverse gear, Next Electric said, “Safer, more comfortable and versatile driving experience with an excellent visibility and maintaining a constant speed in long journeys and facilitating maneuvers in confined spaces.”
The full colour TFT display ensures more intuitive as well as customizable driving experience by providing the rider with detailed information about the e-motorcycle.
While the new e-scooter has a nominal power output of 13.6 hp, it’s peak power 20 hp is much higher than that of its siblings. Thus, we can expect it significantly snappier performance than a standard 125cc conventional scooter. Its top speed of 81 miles per hour (mph) is also quite impressive.
In terms of technology, the Next NX2 offers three modes to choose from. It enables the rider to tailor performance the rides according to their preferences. However, the battery pack is non-removable. It means it can’t be taken out of the EV to charge inside a home or office. The 72-volt, 120-Ah lithium battery promises a range of up to 75 miles on a single charge, provided the rider sticks to an average speed of around 45 mph. The list of other note-worthy features of the e-scooter includes a standard telescopic fork, a single rear shock absorber, 13-inch wheels (front and back), and ABS-equipped disc brakes.
In Spain, the Next NX2 e-scooter retails for 6,999 Euros (approx. $7,700). It is slightly more expansive in France, where it retails for 7,799 Euros (approx. $8,600).
