Musharraf’s impeachment out of question: Shujaat

Lahore, May 6 : Former Pakistan premier Shujaat HussainPML-Q president and former Pakistan premier Shujaat Hussain has said that the ruling coalition will never impeach President Pervez Musharraf.

But, falling short of citing any reason for the same, he told media persons -- “You know well of why they can not do so.”

“The ruling coalition will not even make a move for the President’s impeachment for reasons you people are fully aware of, and you can hold me responsible if they initiate such a move,” the Daily Times quoted Hussain as saying at a press conference.

On the judges’ restoration issue, Shujaat said that the PML-Q would appreciate efforts to resolve the judicial crisis but would not tolerate the removal of incumbent judges. The people involved in finding out a solution should also consult the incumbent judges and that the issue should not be politicized, he added.

Asked if he might shake hands with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Zardari if there were differences between the PML-N and the PPP, he said he wanted the coalition government to complete its term. (ANI)
