TCS To Hire 9,000 Employees In Oct-Dec Period
India’s top software services exporter, TCS said that it would hire 9,000 employees till this October-December quarter.
Padmanabhan, executive director human resources, said, “The company would hire 35,000 employees in the year ending March 31, 2008.”
The company has added 84 new customers, while two other front-line IT software companies, Infosys and Wipro, have added only 26 and 25 new clients in the April-June quarter.
Currently, the company’s Mumbai operation is the largest, employing around 9000 people. However, after the new facility comes up, Chennai will replace the Mumbai operations to the second place.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. on Monday posted a better-than-expected 26 percent jump in quarterly profit to 12.47 billion rupees ($317 million) as it won large outsourcing deals and raised fees for customers.
