IBS Software, a leading provider of IT solutions to the global travel, transportation and logistics industry, has acquired a majority stake in Atlanta-based Hotel Booking Solutions Inc (HBSi).

The company has picked up 66% stake in HBSi in a completely cash-and-earn-out deal.

HBSi is a leading provider of IT solutions to the hospital industry. The company provides a platform that connects hotel companies and distribution partners, enabling them to exchange various data instantaneously in a controlled environment.

Among users of company products are well-known brands such as Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Elite Island Resorts, Intravest, and travel distribution companies such as Orbitz Worldwide, Travelocity and Booking.com.

The current acquisition is the fourth global one for IBS, with the company having bought out TopAir from EDS, Avient Technologies from Honeywell Corp and Discovery Travel Systems earlier.

The current investment will provide IBS with a hospitality extension to its existing travel, cruise and hospitality line of business, as well as positioning IBS to leverage newly developed HBSi technology as an alternate option for message brokering across the larger travel industry.
