BMW works on X3 lifestyle vehicle

BMW-X3-VehicleBMW's second-generation X3 lifestyle vehicle that is expected to hit the roads of New Zealand by early next year is claimed to be one of the most sophisticated machine until now.

The car that has a capability of delivering around fuel economy of 5.6 litres/100km (50mpg), the X3 bets high on its improved environmental performance due to a number of features infused in it.

The car comes loaded with features like adjustable Electric Power Steering, Dynamic Stability Control, brake energy generation, Variable Damper Control and a 6.5-inch colour monitor with the latest generation of iDrive.

While the entry-level xDrive20d is expected to be powered by a 2-litre turbodiesel, the top-end petrol variant is expected to be the 1880kg xDrive35i, producing 225kW at 5800rpm and 400Nm from just 1300rpm.

Besides the exclusive features the standard items included in the car consists of electronic stability control, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), traction control and Cornering Brake Control.

However it is also not sure from the company's end that its first model will be rolled out in New Zealand or any other European country. But the company illustrates the design as "dynamically stretched silhouette", that flaunts the characteristics of its earlier X models.
