New sports car SLS AMG is launched by the luxury car maker; Mercedes, in India. The company has kept the price between Rs.2 and Rs.2.5 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

The sports car is powered with 6.2 liter engine and has the ability to reach a maximum speed of 317 km per hour.

Wilfried Aulbur, chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India said that this car symbolize passion, performance, design, technology and engineering excellence values and all these features make it the most exclusive brand in the world.

The sports car is loaded with designer doors like gull-wing and it is inspired by aviation. The car has started receiving orders from all over the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Ahmedabad making the count to 10.

The car has been showcased in Auto Expo 2010 and by the launch of this car; India will become the first market to have right hand drive SLS AMG.

Company had begun the production of the car two weeks before the launch in Germany but in spite of pre production there will be a waiting period of 6-8 months for the delivery of the car from the time of booking.
