192 points rise in Sensex in opening ten minutesOn Monday, the benchmark index of Indian equities rose sharply at the opening bell and was ruling about 192 points higher ten minutes into trade.

After opening at 16,191.32 points, the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), was at 16,384.41 points, up 192.78 points or 1.19 percent from its previous close at 9.10 a. m.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was at 4,906.35 points, against the previous close at 4,844.9 points, a gain of 1.27 percent or 61.45 points.

With the BSE midcap index up 1.01 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 1.06 percent higher, broader markets were also in the green. (With Input from Agencies)
