Amar Singh lodges FIR against Raj Thackeray
Mumbai, Feb 4: Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh has lodged an FIR against Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and others in South Mumbai's Azad Maidan police station regarding the incident of protests by MNS activists.
Earlier today, two men on a motorcycle threw glass bottles at Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan's residence ‘Prateeksha’ here.
Security has been increased outside Bachchan's residence a day after activists of Raj Thackeray's MNS clashed with Samajwadi Party supporters near the venue of a United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) rally on Sunday.
Over the last few days, Thackeray had made public statements questioning Bachchan's loyalty to Maharashtra.
Twenty-two workers of the MNS have been arrested for rioting.
On Sunday, actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan had retaliated to Raj Thackeray's statement against her husband Amitabh Bachchan.
Raj Thackeray criticised Bachchan of favouring Uttar Pradesh over Maharashtra. He had also outraged people from Bihar by calling the Chhat festival a 'drama'. (ANI)
