BJP launches 'Sankalp Sandesh Vahans'
New Delhi, Feb 1: With eyes on Assembly elections in ten States this year and Lok Sabha polls next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today launched 'Sankalp Sandesh Vahans' (message vehicles) ahead of the 'Sankalp Yatra' to be undertaken by the party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani.
About two-dozen vehicles will travel across the country, said Party Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
The BJP is keen to cash in on its recent victories in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls and has coined slogans like "NDA Advani raj, suraksha, samrudhi aur swaraj' (NDA Advani rule, security, prosperity and good governance).
The Leader of the Opposition, Advani, will launch the 'Sankalp Yatra' from Jabalpur on February 6 and will traverse 380 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country. The yatra will conclude on March 23.
The party will use street plays, short films and rallies to send across its message.
Naqvi said theatre artists would perform satirical street plays slamming the Congress-led UPA Government's policies, including on terrorism, price rise, farmers and corruption.
These will also be performed at the 16 places where Advani will address rallies, Naqvi added.
Short films highlighting the "failure of the UPA government" will be shown on the sidelines of the meetings, Naqvi said. (ANI)
