Neuner leads home German one-two in Ruhpolding
Ruhpolding, Germany - Magdalena Neuner of Germany pipped compatriot Kati Wilhelm to victory in the women's 7.5-kilometre biathlon World Cup sprint in Ruhpolding Friday despite having to ski one penalty loop.
Six-time world champion Neuner missed one target in the standing position on her way to a winning time of 23 minutes, 26.6 seconds, finishing just two tenths of a second ahead of Wilhelm, who produced perfect shooting in the range.
Darya Domracheva of Belarus also produced flawless shooting to take third spot, 14 seconds behind Neuner. (dpa)
